LES MIS CHAPTER 8

The senator seemed to be a very clever person. The Senator and Bishop are having a long discussion. The senator seems to hate Diderot because he is an ideologist, a declaimer, and a revolutionist, a believer in god at bottom, and  more bigoted than Voltaire. The Bishop also seems to be talking about how when you don't have something you want it. For example, you might want the new video game even though you already have plenty of other games. Which can show since you don't have it you want it. Where as if you have bought it already you would want another new game to play.

LES MIS CHAPTER 7

The Bishop seems like a calm and brave person. This is because he doesn't have any doors in his house, he doesn't have any locks, and he lets everyone enter his home. He also seems very wise with what he said. The bishop also believes if anyone is going to help him or save him is god himself. He trust god all of the time. Nobody would question the Bishop.

LES MIS CHAPTER 5

I think It is trying to show what the bishop life was like. He would visit different areas that are rich and poor. He seems like a good person. I would've loved to meet him.

HOW WE READ

The four strategies to love reading are to read books you love, seek to better understand the books you don't love, reconsidering how we define the word read, and develop expertise and the confidence that will enable you to find them yourself.      The first strategy you can do is to read books that you think you will get joy out of. You can determine if you'll enjoy the book by reading the first few pages or if its part of a series where you enjoyed the first book.     The second strategy is to try and dig deep into the author or the backstory of the book. You can do this by reading one of their previous book to maybe learn a bit more about the author, You can also, see some interviews or podcasts where the author talks about themselves.     Another strategy you can use is to try to reconsider the definition of read. I believe you can do this by trying to read more books and trying to enjoy them or spend time on reviewing the book you dislike.     Lastly, you can dig deep

LES MIS CHAPTER 6

The house the Bishop lived in was pretty big or at least bigger then average. The penitents assessed themselves to raise money for a new alter. Mademoiselle Baptistines made a purchase of drawing-room furniture in yellow Utrecht velvet. Madame Magloire discovered beneath the paper that there were washed over paintings.

Pages From my Journal #2

October 6 I would meet people in school or near my neighborhood post quarantine. Now I don't really give myself too much time to talk to new people. I haven't really made much friends during quarantine apart from maybe 2-3 people. October 7 If the spider is small I would try to take it outside, but if its large I'm not going to hesitate and I'm going to try and smash it. It would depend on the size whether I'd take it outside or smash it. October 8 When I'm gone people might say that I was an interesting or a one of a kind figure. At least that what I think people that are close to me think. They might also think I'm a chill person. October 9 People who are important for me are my parents. This because the have done so much for me that I can't thank them enough or repay them no matter how I hard I try. Something that I think they find important is me and my two younger brothers.

Literal Analysis

      1) The book I am currently reading is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. It is about this kid named Harry who discovers he was a wizard since birth. He then attends the wizarding school Hogwarts. He makes some friends along the way.     2) I believe the theme of the book is somewhat Identity and Growing Up since he realizes who he really is and is growing as in knowledge wise.     3) From the author's tone I would imagine that they sleep late since she puts in a lot of effort on her books which normally means they work on their book a lot, mostly in the night so that would lead to wake up late. I think this since the main character is sort of the same as what I portray her to be like. I would imagine she would drink coffee and meditate since it seems she doesn't write too much about hatred which could mean she meditates to release her stress. I would think she would get hungover from time to time due to her success. I would think she would eat breakfast which would pro

Lit Analysis Book Choice

The book I decided to read is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I chose this book since I remember reading his book when I was I think in 6th grade. From what I remember I enjoyed this book the first time I read it. I want to read it again to see if there were details I didn't realize the first time.

LES MIS CHAPTER 5

After reading over Chapter 5 off Les Misérables I found out that M. Myriel got very little sleep which I could relate to since I don't have a good sleeping schedule. He also had a very busy life while traveling to the rich and poor. Hw would also go through the country or the town. He also liked to write and draw all to himself to help him relax and calm down which I can also relate to.

LES MIS CHAPTER 1

After reading over the first chapter it seems this book is well structured and has many bigger more complex words that I will need to search up to find the definition. It doesn't interest me just yet but hopefully I will later on.

Pages from my Journal #1

September 28     One thing I did this weekend that made my day better is listening to this album someone recommended to me. I enjoyed the majority of the album and introduced me to this new artist I would have not have known had they not recommended the album.                                                                                     September 29     After watching tonight's debate I am worried for the future of the United States. This is because it feels like the U.S. will take an L rather then whoever loses the election. At least from what I know they have many allegations and accusations which lead to them being a bit weird but they are not confirmed to be true yet. I also don't believe they are fit to be president but that's just my take on this situation.                                                                                     September 30     One time I have felt de

Journal Topic September 21-22

September 21     I would probably see the classroom as a jail cell since there would be nothing to do other than if the teacher is in the classroom. Then you can hear what they are talking about.                                                                           September 22     People maybe stab themselves since they feel they have no purpose in life. I think that symbolizes weakness since they are showing that they are vulnerable to an extent. They probably want to symbolize a type of bravery since they maybe want to show that they are "tough" in a way.

I CAN READ

Link to fox and Socks Reading :)  https://youtu.be/gKGiZzAskkU I think I made about 27 mistakes but its better then my first recording where I had about 58 mistakes. I found out you mispronounced about 14 words after reviewing your (Mr. Preston)  video a couple times. So Mr. Preston you seem to beat me by quite a bi in time and in making less mistakes.

HOW I READ

      A) I enjoy when we would read books as a class since It makes more sense for me rather than reading it by myself since I could read a whole page then once I'm done I wouldn't even remember what happened.     B) The four recommendations are saying to read a book that appeals to you and you think you might enjoy, try to dig a bit deep to maybe find connections to the story so you keep wanting to read that book, try and change how you look at reading, and lastly start to develop the expertise and the confidence that will enable you to find them yourself.     C) After reading the first few pages of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone I have been interested in knowing about the main character Harry Potter and how certain events led to where he is at the moment of the book. So I am enjoying the fist parts of the book :).

MSS PART 2

    1) I think the difference between a sign and a symbol is that a symbol has a deeper meaning than a sign which is more simple and explanatory.       2) The three elements of symbol are the symbol itself , referent, and us (yourself).     3) I think a word is a symbol since it could stand for many things if you take a deeper look into the word.     4) A natural sign for me is for example a sign on the freeway that says how far a place is in miles.     5) A symbol I have seen in the world is a cross. It stands for Jesus. I knew what it meant because I would go to church every weekend post pandemic.

WHY I CHOSE WHAT I CHOSE

I chose to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer  Stone. I chose this book because I remember reading I and enjoying it a couple years ago and I want to revisit it to see if I still enjoy it or not. I have also seen the movies and remember that many parts from the book were left out.

Les Mis Questions

Some of the questions I have after reading a couple of chapter are: Will there be a valuable lesson towards the end of the book? Will there be a war between the rich and the poor?

Les Mis CH 2

The third chapter of Les Misérables is appealing to me because it can sort of be compared to what is currently happening right now during Quarantine. There are also some new words I learned while reading like the word priesthood which according to google means the office or position of a priest. A lot as money started to flow few people would be able to gain while other people would go to to M. Myriel's door in search of alms.

Les Mis CH 3

The third chapter of Les Misérables was about The bishop was traveling in a tilted spring cart when it was on the plain, and on a donkey on mountains. Two women had accompanied him. In the town they were visiting was very poor. So poor in fact that parents would let their children go on their own to try and make some money and bring some back to them from time to time. But it was also a pretty small town.
